Range Work Party Weekend, August 20th & 21st

Trimming brush

The range will be closed to shooting on August 20th and 21st. We will need volunteers to help with range maintenance. There is a Cowboy Action match and a Women's Handgun Continuation class on D3 and D2 that will be running as scheduled on Saturday morning. We have equipment rented to rebuild the 100 yard berm and clear the 200 yard access road. We will be taking down the 100 yard backers, so Brian Hunter can get in to refill and rework the berm as it is disappearing quickly.

From the Prez

The next time you are at the range you will notice our new replacement storage faculties. This past Tuesday the contents of the connex in the parking lot was emptied and transferred to a new unit. Some of the overflow in the target shed was transferred to the other unit and with some new shelves Dan Fanagan will reorganize the units so we can find things. We owe a big thanks to Dan and helpers, Mike, Bill, Joe, and Tom for all the effort.

Rolling Range Closures - Updated

The shoot houses will be re-roofed the week of March 28th April 3rd. The range in general will be open for the regular weekday groups but individual ranges may be closed. The roofers will try to work in sections rather than on the whole thing at once. For example, the 100-200 yard will be open when the 25 is closed and vice versa. Sorry, we don't have a specific schedule, we aren't sure what things look like under the old roof.

From the Pres

We had a break in the weather and maintenance on the safety inspection station was started. The sign in desk was repositioned so Range Masters will be facing the firing line and downrange for better visibility and safety control. We are also discussing new signage along the safety wall by the entrance gate to, hopefully, eliminate some confusion for Range Masters during club sponsored events and to make things easier for Range Masters to deal with folks.
