A Safe Place to Shoot
Redwood Gun Club is centrally located near Arcata and Eureka on the Samoa peninsula, we offer a safe place to shoot in a friendly environment. Whether you are a new or experienced shooter, Redwood Gun Club is the place for you. We have several ranges, including a handgun range with 15 & 25 yard lanes and 50, 100, & 200 yard rifle ranges. We also have three dynamic ranges for action shooting matches and classes.
A $20.00 fee (cash only) per person per day is collected from non-members.
Active duty & retired Military, Reserves and National Guard are free with proper ID.
Whether you are sighting in your rifle for deer season, are interested in some friendly competition or just want to do some plinking, Redwood Gun Club will meet your needs and have you coming back for more of our fresh sea breezes and friendly atmosphere.
The 2023 Match and Event Calendar is posted on the Calendar page. Or here is a direct link. Apologies in advance to those who, like me, are "optically challenged," but there were so many events, I had to drop the size of the text to fit everything on one page. -Alan
The range will be closed to shooting on August 20th and 21st. We will need volunteers to help with range maintenance. There is a Cowboy Action match and a Women's Handgun Continuation class on D3 and D2 that will be running as scheduled on Saturday morning. We have equipment rented to rebuild the 100 yard berm and clear the 200 yard access road. We will be taking down the 100 yard backers, so Brian Hunter can get in to refill and rework the berm as it is disappearing quickly.
My name is Aaron Ostrom and I am honored to be your Vice President of the Redwood Gun Club. I was interested because I would like to give back more to this range and this community of shooters. I've met some great people (members, RSO's and guests) at this range too. Redwood Gun Club is a huge asset for our community and I feel I can help this range with it's current and future goals.
2022 has arrived for Redwood Gun Club and with it let’s hope for fewer masks and more ammo. 2022 also brings a couple of changes to the E-Board in the form of a new president and vice president. I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself. Before introductions, I would like to thank our former Prez and VP for all of the hard work that they have put in over the past few years. The range looks amazing with lots of new storage and 3 dynamic ranges that have brought a lot of new opportunities to RGC members and the public alike.
